D&J Kitchens & Baths Darius Baker
D&J Kitchens & Baths, Inc.

Darius Baker and John Scofield became partners in 1981 with a cabinet making business named Custom Kitchens & Furniture. As the demand for their product shifted in the late 1980's to a more remodeling orientated direction, they closed the cabinet shop and started D & J Kitchens and Baths, Inc., specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling projects. In 2000 Darius and John began to grow the company to what it is today, with 13 employees which include in house designers and field staff capable of any remodeling project.

The company focus is still on interior type projects and can include entire house remodels. Many of D & J's clients remember the personal service they received from Darius and John. Rest assured this service has not changed from our growth. You will receive the same personal service from a qualified D & J team member. Today, D & J Kitchens and Baths has completed over 300 remodeling projects in the Sacramento area and has received 17 COTY (Contractor of the Year) awards.

Doug Bertsch Doug Bertsch

Doug Bertsch has been originating reverse mortgage loans for over 15 years in the surrounding Sacramento area . Passionate about helping seniors in the community he became a corporate reverse mortgage educator and trainer for American Pacific Mortgage Corp. out of Roseville, California. He currently holds a California Real estate Brokers license and is approved with the NMLS government licensing.

After studying for and passing a national test Doug is currently one of only 157 loan originators in the nation that has been given the title of Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist by the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association. He believes that reverse mortgage benefits can give seniors 62 years and older the ability to navigate better through some of the most difficult financial decisions of their life. Michael Glassman Michael Glassman

Michael Glassman is an award winning landscape designer and owner of one of Northern California's most prestigious design firms. With more than thirty years of experience in landscape design, waterworks and the creative elements that enhance outdoor living environments, he spent two years as co-host and designer of Discovery Home Channel's series "Garden Police".

Michael's work has been the subject of nearly fifty Sunset Magazine feature articles. He has also been published in numerous other publications including: Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking with Paula Dean, This Old House Magazine, Garden Design and Landscape Architecture. Five of his gardens were recently featured in Great Backyards 2009 magazine. His sustainable landscaping ideas were recently featured on CNN's Glen Beck show. He has been the spokesperson for the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) and has been honored three times by the American Horticultural Society, who has selected his gardens to be on their tours of Northern California gardens.

His landscape and design solutions have been the subject of more than 7 books books including: Gaining Ground by Maureen Gilmer; Outdoor Designs for Living; Garden Getaways: Havens at Home and his latest to be released at the Northern California Home & Landscape Expo — The Garden Bible.

Part environmental evangelist, part landscape design coach and connoisseur, Michael regularly appears on HGTV's "Gardening by the Yard" with Paul James. His pool designs were featured on a HGTV special , "Spectacular Pools" and recently one of his Outdoor Kitchens appeared on the HGTV special " Sizzling Outdoor Kitchens". His kitchen design was selected as the second best in the nation. Michael's clients are always amazed by his expert vision in unifying the interior and exterior of their homes while finding beauty in their natural outdoor settings, which are coaxed by his creativity into works of art.

He received his degree in landscape Architecture and design from the University of California at Davis and studied at LaNapoule Art Foundation in France. His work can be viewed on his website.

Barry Hoffer Barry Hoffer

Barry's passion is Japanese Maples. He turned his passion into a business when he opened Maples for all Seasons, a Nursery specializing in Japanese Maples, based in Pleasanton, CA. His passion grew from when he acquired his first Japanese Maple, Acer japonicum, Acontifolium, 15 years ago, to a collection that now consists of almost all of the worlds available cultivars. He is still adding.

He serves as President of the Northern California Japanese Maple Society and regularly conducts classes as "The Maple Guy" teaching about gardening with Japanese Maples, the care and pruning of the Japanese maples as well as discussing the four seasons of the Japanese Maples. Being an expert on Japanese Maples, including the care, planting and pruning, Barry has been on Radio, TV and does regular appearances at local Garden Clubs, Home and Garden Shows, Landscape and Garden Shows, and Nurseries throughout the western states.

Genise is currently working for Cosentino as an Architect & Design Sales Manager. She became involved with the stone supply industry nearly four years ago, after owning her own Interior Design firm beginning in 2001. She has collaborated on a variety of residential and commercial projects.
